And there it is.
Just about on schedule, the move to the desert is finished and HOLMES is ready to roll once again. I have a couple of orders to catch up on, but otherwise finish times and everything else will be as normal from here on out. You may still see references to Brooklyn on the site, mainly because I haven't yet gotten around to changing some references, but I think I've decided to leave the original holmesbklyn site address intact. Good to know where you started. The website is also findable at www.holmesstraps.com.
Shop news: After a great run, HOLMES is pulling up its Brooklyn roots, moving west, and starting a new chapter in the California desert outside of LA. This means I won't be working for the next week or so, and I anticipate I'll have the shop back up and running April 7th or 8th. In the meantime, orders may still be placed on the site and they will be finished and sent out in the order in which they were received. I'll also be checking email during the move so I will continue to be available via the contact button on the site header.
Thanks, Brooklyn. Looking forward to everything that comes next...
It's not been long since I last posted something on Will Johnson, but the vantage point on the HOLMES skinny strap in this clip is too perfect to let it pass.

File under: the year gets even better. A shop-fresh HOLMES custom strap on Dean Wareham's Fano PX6. Dean and his apparently endless powers (see: Galaxie 500, Luna, Dean & Britta) have long played a significant role in my musical landscape, and as it turns out he's quite the gentleman as well. The honor is all mine on this one.
As a side note---purely as an aesthetic object, how awesome is that Fano guitar?
Phil Cook (far right) of Megafaun works it out with a HOLMES skinny strap. Ecstatic Music Festival, NYC, 2.27.13. Nice shot, awesome dudes.

The spectacular, soft collision of two of my favorite pure songwriters---Neil Halstead covers Damien Jurado's 'Ohio' for I Am Fuel You Are Friends. It isn't often that I post here about things not directly related to my work, but this deserves every outlet it can get.
Here's Damien with his original:
